1953 Chevrolet Two Door Sedan

The vehicle we are offering is a solid, drivable unit that will provide the new owner with miles of enjoyable driving. The VIN tags identify the car as a model 10-27.

It is an unmolested and largely un-restored with no signs of panel replacement or patches. At one time or another, it has enjoyed a repaint that is true to the factory color. The light green exterior coupled with dark green roof is a striking combination that complements the grey interior.

The fenders, trunk, doors, floors and roof appear to be original with no rust through. Overall the car is straight and solid.

The interior presents as original with only a few flaws. The condition is truly amazing for a 55 year old vehicle. The seats and seat backs are in good shape while the headliner has some tears. Door panels are good as is the dash with only the radio missing.

The glass is good with few scratches and no cracks.

The odometer shows 86,382 miles and although we have no evidence to confirm it, it is believed that the drive train is original. The car is currently licensed and there are no mechanical issues. The motor is quiet and there is no gear whine from the transmission. The brakes are good and the car stops straight.

The engine is GM’s classic straight six coupled to three on the tree.

The chrome and bright work is complete and all there. There are no cracks and there is a nice patina to the original pieces.

The current owner has maintained the car well while it has been in his stewardship.

There are some small rust bubbles at the trunk, trunk valence and bottoms of the doors. This is very minor and easily repaired.

The vehicle is drivable as is and is a fun car to cruise in. It has enjoyed some sympathetic refurbishment and is very presentable.

A restoration would be relatively straightforward since this grand old automobile is complete, solid and mechanically sound.
