1967 Ford Mustang Convertible

The car we are presenting is an older restoration of an American classic. The car was restored in the early 90’s and is holding up very well, due in no small part to the care that the present owner has taken with the car.

This lovely convertible was produced in Metuchen, NJ on July 17, 1967 for Ford of Canada. The original exterior color is Vintage Burgundy Metallic coupled with a Parchment vinyl interior. It was produced with a C4 automatic transmission, and 289 cid engine. Other factory options include: o Power steering, o Power disc brakes, o Power convertible top, o Electric clock, o Glass backlite, o Tinted glass with banded windshield, o AM radio, o Deluxe seat belts, o Console, o Exterior Décor group (pop open gas cap, wheel lip moulding, rear deck moulding, quarter panel moulding, o Functional louvered hood with integral turn signals, o Wheel covers, o Rocker panel moulding, o Rear axle ratio 2.73:1

Dealer installed equipment and accessories include: o Cloth floor mats, o Door edge guards, o License plate frame, o Matching trunk set (trunk mat, spare tire cover, top boot bag, utility bag), o Fire extinguisher, o Saddle console w/cup holders, o Electronic ignition.

The restoration encompassed all areas of the car including mechanical, exterior cosmetics, and interior. The car has been refinished to the factory specifications in all areas.

Mechanically the car has enjoyed an engine rebuild, rebuilt radiator, professionally rebuilt differential and complete brake work (wheel cylinders, master cylinder, calipers, brake booster etc.) The suspension has been thoroughly gone through and has had new ball joints (upper and lower), tie rod ends, bushings and P/S hoses.

The body has been sandblasted and sanded to bare metal. The left and right rear quarters have had factory style panel replacements. The body was ten sealed and painted in a base coat, clear coat application to Vintage Burgundy Metallic. The gaps are even and the body is straight with no dents. The bright work is good and the fronts and rear bumpers have been re-chromed.

The interior features a correct interior that is a reproduction of the factory original including carpet and seat covers. The dash pad, door panels and sill plates show very well. The convertible top has no tears and the power mechanism works perfectly. The dash shows as new including chromes and gauges. The weather stripping has been completely replaced including the window fuzzies.

The wheels feature original wheel covers and Goodyear P205/70R14 tires complete with white walls.

The car is clean and the engine compartment is detailed.

This car has been shown and has garnered its share of awards including: o 2005 Alberta Mustang Club Presidential, 2nd Place Overall, o 1999 Mustang 35th Anniversary, Charlotte, NC, Award of Excellence, o 1998 Stampede to Dearborn, MI, 2nd Place Street Driven Award o 1992 Mustang Invitational, Kingston, ON, 2nd Place Overall.
